While crowdfunding has indeed been around for several years now, slowly making its rounds on the internet, it’s still a relative newcomer in the world of financing when taking into account that it only launched in 2012. That’s not to say it’s not gaining swift momentum. Crowdfunding has already raised billions for businesses and the economy worldwide, making it easier than ever for people to get their great ideas funded – without traditional restraints, restrictions, and rules. But – what about crowdfunding at events that raise awareness surrounding meaningful causes? The UK events industry is worth billions of pounds, with many events held under the radar that are in dire need of support. From schools to charities to sports clubs and more, plenty of individuals and initiatives need funding, and we can’t think of a better way to put event fundraising to the best use possible.
Fund-A-Fest is a fresh new fundraising concept that works just like other fundraising ideas – but with a twist, its the fundraising festival that comes to you! The core idea remains the same – to help individuals and businesses raise funds for worthy ideas and causes. However, the “twist” comes in by ensuring people have fun during the process. After years of research, we’ve come to realise that people are more likely to donate or spend on a good cause if they are getting something in return – even if it’s simply an enjoyable process. This drastically increases the chances of success when compared to having a sponsorship form or money-tin stuffed in their faces. Fund-A-Fest will be a fundraising concept created specifically for community events and charitable giving, like running a marathon or raising money for famished children. Another thing that sets Fund-A-Fest apart is that it doesn’t only have to be about raising money. It can be about raising awareness for any cause whatsoever.
HOW IT WORKS
The business merely needs to upload a plan for the type of fundraising event they wish to host, including a catchy title and images if possible. We’ll also need a simple budget to get an idea of the costs involved so that we can determine if your initiative would be a good match for our business model. Fund-A-Fest can then review the proposal and, if all looks good, we can approve it to go live on our website, our social media platforms, and our mailing list of affluent clients and businesses. The beneficiaries and organisers will remain responsible for marketing the event.
Fund-A-Fest will retain 10% of all donations to cover our operating costs, such as payment gateways to collect the donations and our online platform costs to host the donation page. Money will be made through sponsorships, selling online advertising space, and possible funding from the Lotto and such like. We plan to approach high net worth individuals and companies with corporate responsibility, high tax bills, and sponsorship needs to donate to events. On our website, you can find examples of costs involved with an event.
All project costs are segregated into various critical project demands, including:
- Festival Big Top Tent
- Festival Double Decker Bus Bar
- Employment of Management Staff
- Portable Safety Barriers
- PR Services
- Social Media Marketing
- Legal + Insurance
- Project Running Costs (12m)
THE BOTTOM LINE
The events industry in the UK is worth billions of pounds, and there are plenty of individuals and initiatives out there in need of exposure. Fund-A-Fest can help people get that exposure by giving people a reason to donate.
