I would like to make traditional fudge and sell to the public at local food markets,

by Janet Thompson in Bridgend, Wales, United Kingdom

I am a mother of five and I’ve always wanted to be my own boss. I’ve been making fudge for the past year now for friends and family and they have always asked why I’ve never done it as a business, now the kids are getting older I am ready to take that step. I’ve managed to source a local dairy (local produce is always better) where I can buy some of my products but in order to make and sell the fudge I need licences from the local council and to do a health and safety course in food manufacturing, I’m also looking to designate an area in my kitchen to work and store the fudge until market time. These are little hurdles I have to jump over but my main goal is to one day have my own little fudge shop where I can prepare the fudge on site for the general public to see and taste the many flavours I would have to offer, I also would like to set up a website so I can sell and ship all over the UK.
