We are raising money to provide support for families with a child under 5 who are struggling to meet their daily needs and are isolated .

New stretch target

With the additional funding we will be able to train and supply  more volunteers to support local families in need. We want to cut down our waiting list as childhood can't wait. The extra money will provide an extra day a week of Co-Ordinator time allowing our service to grow and be able to respond more quickly to difficult family circumstances.

Being a parent is challenging for us all but trying to parent one or more under 5s whilst living in challenging circumstances can feel like climbing a mountain and that there is no light at the end of the tunnel leading to feelings of isolation, loneliness and poor mental health for mum and failure to meet developments goals for children. Homestart Ealing aims to be there when families need us most because childhood cannot wait.

Homestart provides trained volunteers managed by staff Co-Ordinators who visit the family in their own home for 2 hours a week for 3-6 months to be that much needed listening ear and provide the practical and emotional support that prevents a family moving from being in a place of concern to a place of crisis from which it is going to take lengthy and costly statutory intervention to attempt to enable them to cope. Our project moves struggling families from striving to thriving and equips the parents to become contributors in their communities and the children to be nursery and school ready.  Volunteers help families to develop routines, venture out of the house and join in community activities where it is too big a step to go on their own and make and keep important appointments.

As a small charity we have very low overheads spending most of our income on direct service delivery to families.

£100 donation provides a professional assessment of the family need and an initial home visit from our Co-Ordinator

£250 donation enables us to fully support a 3 month home visiting provision for a family in need.

All donation amounts count. Will you help us to support a family and help them overcome the challenges they are facing before a concern turns into a costly longterm crisis ? We want every parent to know they are good enough and every child to thrive because childhood can't wait.
