A first look into how tourism and academics can go hand in hand to explore and experience Southern China.
About the project
MengYa is a start-up dedicated to social science. We want to bridge the gap between books and the field, creating unique experiences for our participants.
On our first ever pilot trip this summer (2015), we plan to film a documentary to record our programme, getting insight into tourism in China, along with how our lectures and seminars will be received. It will be a glimpse into the hard work that goes into making a start-up, along with trials, tribulations and celebrations that we face. It will be a look into the complex relationship between humans and nature, gathering perspectives from a host of different backgrounds, from academic theories to local insight.
