On December 18th 2012 Liberal Democrat councillor Frances Moseley passed away following a long battle with cancer.
At the time of her death, she was serving as lead member for better homes, co-chair of the place and sustainability committee and vice chair of the development control committee.
Alpha Road Residents Association remember her as remarkable and strong woman who worked hard for the resident throughout her illness. She displayed tremendous courage and commitment to her work espeically to Council tenants and the most vulnerable residents of the borough.
Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey added: "Frances was an amazing woman and one of the best councillors I've ever known. I and many others will miss her badly."
Shortly after her death residents commmissioned a memorial mosaic and mounted it on a wall close to the Surbtion Children's Nursery on Alpha Road. Over the years the mosaic has become worn and water-damaged.
The Resident Association now wish to commission repair work and weather-proofing and add a memorial plaque. A local artist Kim Porelli is ready to begin the work. They invite colleagues old and new, friends and residents who all worked alongside Frances to help contribute to the cost.
