Framework Charity

RCN 1060941, Nottingham

Framework exists to meet the needs of homeless and vulnerable people by providing outreach, accommodation, support, treatment, care, training, resettlement and tenancy sustainment services. The service user group includes people with drug, alcohol and mental health problems and those with complex needs.

Around 200,000 homeless and vulnerable people across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire have benefited from the support of Framework, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2021.

Framework, which is now one of the UK’s leading charities supporting homeless and vulnerable people, was created from the merger in July 2001 of two small Nottingham homelessness charities – Macedon and Nottingham Help the Homeless Association (NHHA).

In the twenty years since those small beginnings Framework has steadily increased its range of services and the number of people it helps each year, and delivers those services across a much wider area: in its first year of operation (2001/02) Framework supported 2,442 people mostly in Nottingham; in the year to March 2021 the charity supported 16,537 people across Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Sheffield.

Framework’s wide range of services now comprises housing, health services, employment advice, and support and care: it has developed specialist services to support people with drug, alcohol and mental health issues, as well as services for people with training and employment needs.

The range of people supported has also grown to include, for instance, extensive specialist services for young people across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

In addition Framework is engaged with a wide range of partners to deliver strategic services such as the drug and alcohol pathway in Nottingham with partners including the NHS, and the DWP’s Covid-related Job Entry Targeted Support employment programme across Nottinghamshire.

By donating to our Crowdfunder you will be helping us to continue to provide this life-changing level of support to so many people every year, empowering local vulnerable people to achieve better, brighter and more independent futures. Thank you.
