Forfar Christmas Lights

We are raising funds to install, maintain, insure and then remove the Forfar Christmas Street Lights 2017

We did it!

On 27th Nov 2017 we successfully raised £740 with 55 supporters in 35 days

As we are all aware, Angus Council has ceased the funding for the Christmas Lights in the Angus Burghs and it is now  the ongoing responsibilty of the community to fund these going forward.

SO WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN .........d3ea18af4aa9c80a4d3f9eedcfdeb08e89c67f9b

As you can imagine its not cheap to do these things but if we dont try then we wont get, its that simple !

The Christmas Street Lights have been a festive feature of Forfar for as long as we can all remember. Just how sad would it be if there weren't any this year, or next year, or never again? How dismal would the town centre be when you're doing your christmas shopping, or wandering about on your christmas night out. Where would Santa receive the kiddies Christmas letters if there were no lights to guide him and Rudolf on their merry journey ? Where would we sing carols and drink mulled wine ?

We have been fundraising for a while now, doing bag packing in Tesco , there's the Halloween Party in the Queens Hotel on Saturday 28th October and we've already had a few donations so thank you so far.

But lets not get complacent, if we reach our target for this years installation then anything left over will go towards either buying new lights for next year or to kick start next years costs.

There is approx. 15,000 people in Forfar and if we all donated 50p each then that's a massive amount but if we all put in just £1 each, wow , just think how amazing the town would be .......
