The Forest Community Centre has been open and serving the Melksham Community for six years. Providing hall and field hire, community events, charity fundraisers and much more, open to everyone from all backgrounds of life, age, disability, nationality etc. The centre is ran completely by volunteers within the Melksham community, without the work our volunteers and committee members, the centre wouldn't be such a welcoming place it is today.
As a centre, we don't often ask for help with funding or apply for many grants, however we need to ask a big favor.
Since COVID-19 hit earlier this year, like any community centres, we had to close our doors. This meant that the centre wasn't getting any sort of income in to pay our bills and the upkeep of the centre. From then till now, we have been digging into our monies in our bank account to pay these outgoing cost. We are currently in a situation where that money is running out, and struggling, so much so, our committee is having to look at the prospect of shutting the community centre doors completely with the uncertainty if they will ever re-open. But we don't want to just simply close the doors, we want to keep going and be there for you, when we are able to re-open when government lets us.
Therefore now more than ever, and we need your help. We know times are tough and many families and individuals are struggling with there own finical situation, but if you could spare any money, we would be grateful and thankful.
