Football for Frontliners
Tristar FC wishes to bring the whole footballing community together to raise funds for our heroes, the frontline workers battling Covid-19, in the Derry and Strabane area. Frontline workers such as the doctors, nurses, paramedics, carers, and so many more, not to mention the Taxi Drivers, Bus drivers, shop workers and so many more.
So this isn't about one club raising funds, it’s about all our local clubs working together.to support our health service.
What can we do as coaches? We all know that our frontline workers are working all the hours there is to help our community, with insufficient PPE gear, knowing that they are putting themselves at massive risk. I am proposing that we raise funds to support them. Let’s bring together the whole footballing community of the Derry and Strabane area to raise funds for the Western Health & Social Care Trust to be placed where ever its needed most.
I am appealing to all of our local football clubs to get involved, coaches, players and their families and friends. If we do, perhaps it will spread throughout Northern Ireland and ‘Football for Frontliners’ will be able to support all health trusts within the province.
My challenge - STAY AT HOME, SHAVE YOUR DOME! might not suit everyone, so what’s your challenge to help and support our frontline workers?
Secretary Tristar FC
P.S. A big shout out to current coaches, ex-players and families of our players currently working on the frontline, Paddy Morrison, Dr Conor Barr, Dr John O’Donnell and so many more.
So can all the clubs in Derry and Strabane get behind this fundraiser: Trojans, Oxford, Don Bosco's, Foyle Harps,Top of the Hill, Pheonix, Clooney Soccer School, Ballymoor, Strabane FC, Sion Swifts, Kildrum, Limavady, Eglinton Eagles, Newell, Derry CIty FC. What's your challenge?
