Yeleni Therapy & Support offers free complementary therapy sessions - such as massage and reflexology - to people living with cancer. We are there for people of any age, with any cancer, at any stage.
'The immediate effect is one of calmness,' says a client, 'Something I found difficult to achieve, given the distressing effects of my cancer treatment.'
We have recently been awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark, which recognises the high standards we meet.
Yeleni Therapy & Support offers a wide range of therapies, including massage, Bowen therapy, acupuncture, kinesiology, hypnotherapy, Alexander Technique and Reiki, as well as counselling. Clients always meet with a skilled and professional nurse before they begin any treatments, and they are given information and guidance to help them choose the right therapies. We would never claim to diagnose, treat or cure, but we have found that many people experience benefits, especially by finding ways to relax and to be able to cope with the side effects of treatments such as chemotherapy.
'I find many of the side effects of the brain tumour bring physical, emotional and psychological problems to my day to day life,' says Sean. 'I find the mixture of therapies I can access means all these needs can be addressed within a session each week, giving me a holistic feeling of improvement.'
'I could easily confide in the therapists,' says another of our clients, 'and felt very safe in their hands.'
In 2016 we received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.
Yeleni Therapy & Support is a small, independent Herefordshire charity which offers 9 free complementary therapy sessions and ongoing support to anyone living with any cancer, at any stage, at any age. It costs £400 to offer each cancer patient their tailor made free programme. We are hoping to Help Five more people to Thrive through Cancer by raising £2,000.
We want to help people to be able to live well both with and beyond cancer. If we can raise £2,000 then 5 more people living with cancer will receive 9 FREE complementary therapies. They won't need to worry about whether they can afford it. They will be able to come to our centre, feel welcomed and supported, and take the opportunity to relax in safe hands.
Yeleni Therapy & Support does not receive any funding from the government, from Macmillan, or from the local council. We rely entirely on grants and generous donations from people like you! You can be sure that the money that you donate will benefit 5 more people in Herefordshire & surrounding areas who are living with cancer. Thank you for your help.
