Stonehouse, is one of the original 'Three towns of Plymouth'. It has a long history of it's own that has never been published in full, unlike the other two towns , Devonport, and Plymouth Sutton Harbour. From it's rural past to the industrial, and then with  it's famous thoroughfare Union Street, Stonehouse became stigmatised.  But Stonehouse has changed recently, and the magnificant architecture, namely The Royal William Yard, The Royal Naval Hospital, and their location has been recognised by outsiders for their beauty. Refurbished to a high standard these places have become sort after for places to live. But there is still a slight stigma. This book hopefully will open up the past and look at the positive future that Stonehouse has. Look into the peoples lives that lived here and shaped Stonehouse like Sir John Rennie, John Smeaton, Henry Snell, Putty Philpotts, and even 'Cora Pearl'.

Also in this book will be history walks. This is to get groups/friends walking in and around Stonehouse and apprieate it's diversity....
