The UK has confirmed that it has had over 260,000 Covid-19 cases with a staggering death of over 30,000 people. These figures has not only demoralised the economy but it has also made life come to a standstill for many people, especially those who are vulnerable such as the elderly, the homeless and those with underlining health issues. The pandemic has left many people at a financial disadvantage as they have been made redundant from work, many have also lost their businesses and many are even lacking the funds for everyday essentials.
What we will do about it
A team of 70 community volunteers have decided to visit communities across the capital and neighbouring towns giving them aid packs. They will also be giving them shopping and grocery packs containing essentials to get them by for the week. Although it may only happen once or twice, we believe that every little helps and these packs will not only get them through the week but will also boost their moral through these uncertain times.
We would love for everyone to come together to help us raise £40,000. The money will predominantly go towards the aid packs and essentials packs with groceries, we are working with local supermarkets in order to get items at a more discounted rate to further aid our cause. The money will also cover transportation and travel expenses of the volunteers who may need to travel to other small towns. Packs will contain fruits, basic supplies such as toilet rolls, fruits and vegetables, bottled water, cereal, milk and possibly one or two tinned items for lunch and dinner.
