Fields Twins Support Project

by Team Hamster in Llanelli, Wales, United Kingdom

We did it
On 8th August 2019 we successfully raised £487 with 8 supporters in 55 days

Our aim has always been to raise as much awareness as possible for the rarer forms of diseases and to help families when they need it most.

Team Hamster was created by Don Webster in May 2016.

With the sole aim of raising awareness of rarer forms of cancer. His friend Richard Cole was diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer called Nut (Midline) Carcinoma which to this day is still incurable and very little is known of this form of disease.

With the support of Gareth Cole (Richards brother) and his friends, Adam Thomas and Mike Mursell they embarked on their first ever 24 hour gaming event. Fast forward to August 2017 and they have now completed 72 hours of non stop gaming raising well over £4,500 for Macmillan, Cancer Research and Ty Olwen.

We will use the funds raised to help The Fields Twins and their families buy equipment that will help them in leading a more independent life. Just last year local companies had come together to help with building an extension to the family to make it more accessible for the girls to move around and have more room to themselves. It’s things like this that makes the world a great place. An act of kindness can go a long way and sure to be a small donation for these girls will go a lot further in adapting to their condition year on year. These girls are an inspiration to us all as even though they suffer, they always keep on smiling.
