My 8 year old nephew, Fenton, was devastatingly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in May this year.
Fenton is an amazing, cheeky and very active little lad whose life is all about football. He has a lot more talent than I had in my prime! He is part of the under 9s Oxford Utd squad, unfortunately supports Chelsea football team and loves playing Fifa (he hates it when I beat him though)!
I will be running the Maidenhead half marathon on 1st September to raise money for Fenton and his family so they can hopefully have a trip away together or do something they will enjoy as a family when Fenton is feeling up to it. The more I raise, the better the holiday I suppose ;-)
I would be very grateful for any sponsorship funds received. This has been a really tough few months for Fenton and his family and I would love to be able to give them something to look forward to and for them to spend some quality time together as a family. They are doing amazingly well at supporting each other through this time and being so courageous in everything they have faced. They are also doing an incredible job at raising money for the team that are caring for Fenton at the Oxford Children's Hospital and the various local charities that have provided support to them and I feel as though they deserve something for themselves.
