My name is Jade and I am a 24 year old graduate with a degree in Media and Journalism. My story is rather unique because growing up I didn't have the faintest Idea about what I wanted to do, my parent's worked fairly normal jobs and are not the least bit creative, so to have found myself in this field of Media production blows my mind. My plan is create a Media company that provides films, documentaries, promo videos and much more. I enjoy making content that reflects legacy and achievements, something that celebrates people and also brings awareness to the things that need to be discussed. With the money raised I will invest in equipment for the company, so camera's, audio equipment, lighting and much more. If there is one thing I hope my presence in this sector will do for other young women is to encourage them to open their minds to different career fields. I think people look at videography, filming and editing as a role geared towards men but I believe women are so creative, we have so many Ideas's flowing through us and we have just as much capacity to make creative film. I want women to be bolder about occupying positions that maybe they wouldn't have considered because they haven't seen a lot of other women doing it, the men are doing an epic job already but I believe female perspectives, ideas and influence will only increase the greatness we already have going on in the industry. If you have a chance too, watch "when they see us" by Ava Duvernay, the film docufilm was created and directed by her and is both moving and powerful! The ability to create timeless pieces of film, something that will outlive us all and continue to tell the story of today, decades from now is what both amazes me and drives me to do what I do and I can't wait for the opportunity to do it large scale.
