- We are a ladies team of volunteers from the Farnsfield Cricket club community trying to do our bit to raise vital funds for the children of Farnsfield and surrounding areas to enjoy our facilities for years to come.
The team consists of my daughter Emily who is 15 and spends her spare time helping us at the club doing whatever she is asked to do and more. Myself, Helen, not quite as fit as I used to be but still like to keep active and normally help out with the cricket teas loving to bake and provide food for the teams. I also help with fundraising and any other jobs I can do.
Our aim is to walk the length of the country ‘virtually’ from Landsend to John O Groats in a time frame of 8 weeks (less if possible!). The distance being 1083 miles.
Also joining us in the challenge are Maria who pretty much organises and helps with everything Farnsfield Cricket club (I think if we cut her open she would have Farnsfield Cricket Club running through the middle of her like a stick of Rock), and Suzie, again who devotes her time to helping Farnsfield Cricket Club in any way she can and has been a huge asset to the club, helping out with our 2nd ground just down the road at Edingley.
This is quite a challenge to fit this into our already overstretched schedules, whilst still keeping our main jobs and houses running along with the jobs we volunteer to do at the cricket club, but we’re going to take it on and succeed!
All funds raised will be spent on equipment and the infrastructure of Farnsfield Cricket Club to sustain its future.
Thank you so much for your sponsorships no matter how small, they are all gratefully received.
