WO2 Fred Jessney passed away last month with a heart attack. During his long military career he helped lads like me, to become men. Like a father, he made sure we had manners, worked hard, but also play hard. He managed the regimental football team, mid week and weekends.
I never saw him get angry, even when the lads had crossed the line, but we knew when he was serious.
I suggested on the Regimental facebook page, that we gather together on the 2nd of November, to say good bye to Fred, at the British Legion, Fawley, Hampshire.
And also be raising a toast to other Regimental members that have left us too soon.
I have created an event, and now need to raise some funds for entertainment and food.
We will also raise money for the Poppy Appeal on the night.
Thank you for reading.
