The team of highly skilled volunteers, which both run the Museum and undertake all the restoration work, need your support to purchase parts and materials to return this Falklands War veteran to display condition. This helicopter was involved in several battles during the 1982 war and was used for evacuating casualties and resupplying ground forces with ammunition and food. When completed, it will join other Falklands veteran aircraft to become part of the most comprehensive permanent Falklands War memorial display in the country. To enable the Museum to achieve the highest standard of restoration, some of the parts will need to be bought from collectors etc. All the very skilled restoration is carried out by unpaid volunteers and will amount to many hundreds of hours over the project. SYAM has a reputation for bringing almost 'scrap' aircraft back to life as static exhibits looking as though they had just landed. With your help we hope to be able to do the same to our Falklands Scout.
Our Falklands Wessex, also restored from derelict condition.
