Laughing is good for you. Laughing with strangers helps you become friends. Laughter breaks down barriers; challenges stereotypes and prejudices and builds community. The Great British Faith Off will take all those ingredients, mix them up through stand up comedy and put on a great night for everyone of all faiths and none.
The plan is to bring together a group of people of different faiths for a one day workshop on Stand Up comedy. During the workshop, each person will develop their own five minute routine, under the guidance of an experienced trainer. We will then all perform our brand new, never heard before, stand up routines at a gig that evening, during Leicester's globally famous comedy festival.
We are raising funds to cover the cost of hiring the trainer and a room in which to conduct the workshop. People will not be paid to take part, and entry to the evening gig will be on a 'pay what you want' basis.
