Faith, Hope and Charity

We will be making a documentary, raising awareness of children who sleep rough on the streets of Nairobi

We did it!

On 26th Mar 2018 we successfully raised £3,600 of £3,600 target with 39 supporters in 28 days

New stretch target

The charity we will be following: Children of Hope (Tumaini Kwa Wototo, in Swahili), can rescue a child for £250. That will enable them to trace a child’s family, take the child back home and do regular follow up visits, ensuring that children are settling back home in circumstances that are consistent with the provision of safe and effective care. As this campaign has been so successful, we would like you to help us rescue 10 children as part of this crowdfunding project. Help change lives.

It is estimated that there are more than 60,000 children who live on the streets of Nairobi. While boys often survive on collecting garbage, girls are often forced to resort to prostitution in order to get clothes or food. The children’s rights are violated constantly as they are often harassed and exploited and there is a growing dependence on drug taking and trafficking. This effectively locks the children into their predicament.

This project will make a documentary of some of the stories of these children, as we follow a faith-based charity called Children of Hope (Tumaini Kwa Watoto in Swahili) tackling this issue. We want give a voice to some of these children in Nairobi, through the different forms of media that we as a media team can bring: video, photography, writing, drawing and audio recordings.
