We are raising money so that we can build a car and enter the national F1 in schools competition

by Amy Fyvie in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom

We are a group of six, twelve to thirteen year olds, both male and female, who are doing a school project using engineering, marketing, advertising and team building skills to create and build a model formula one car with which we wish to enter a nationwide school event to race it against schools all over Scotland and England.

This is a huge opportunity to us, not only to give us practical skills experience and to boost our education in the area of engineering and design with this STEM challenge but also to promote our school and our city in this nationwide tournament.

We have a design in mind as well as a team colours, logo and name (Falcon flow!)

We are based at Leith Academy School in Edinburgh, which, as you may be aware, is a fantastic multicultural school, that promotes diversity and community spirit, however it is in a deprived area, and our team comes from a mix of backgrounds.

Please can you contribute anything you can towards this project, which will mean not only a massive amount to ourselves, but also to our school and community.

Our crowd has raised over £70 million for bright ideas and good causes.
