In Merseyside, there has been a large increase in life limiting and long term conditions. Along side this there has been a decline in services offered for people living with these conditions. Sunflowers has been providing support for people living with cancer for over 30 years and with over 600 people using our service, we want to ensure a healthier lifestlye for people living with any long term condition.
Over the past three years we have watched our centre become busier and busier, as demand for the services we provide increases. We want to help as many local people as possible improve their wellbeing, and for this reason we are now opening our service up to people who are living with long term or life changing conditions.
Our services help people cope with pain, fatigue, anxiety, grief, loss of mobility, weight management, loss of confidence and other issues commonly experienced by people affected by cancer. In short we help our clients improve their health and wellbeing, and to lead their best possible life.
We want to raise £30,000 to put the provisions in place to make Sunflowers a well-being centre for people who have been diagnosed with Crohns, IBS, Fibromyalgia, ME, COPD, Chronic pain and other conditions. We want to be open longer hours to offer this support and put on specialised exercise classes, group counselling, nutrition workshops and complementary therapies to ensure that nobody in Merseyside has to go through a diagnosis alone.
Liverpool Sunflowers is the only place locally that can offer this support, if you know anybody that would benefit from our services please put them in touch with us.
