Your chance to own a marquee hire company and events business.
I'm looking for people to invest as little as £250 and in return gain shares in the business. Projection targets are Year 1 - £50 per share but to double profits by year 2 at £100 per share, rising each year.
The hire business.
We will buy Three luxury marquees from an existing hire company.
These are for sale between £5,000 and £25,000 secondhand and come with furnishings already.
An extra £7,000 will be spent on websites, marketing and storage.
The marquees will be hired out for weddings and exhibitions. Hiring a marquee for a weekend costs between £2,000 and £5,000.
Estimated profits for the first year after staffing costs would be 10-15k
Tailored around the Christmas party.
One catering service has agreed in principle a sum of £17,000 - This includes staffing, canapes, drinks on arrival, 3 course meal, table wine and tea and coffee.
This was based on a round figure of 200 guests for 8 nights.
So.. 200 guests at £55 per head = £11,000 over 8 nights = £88,000
If each person spent £15 at the bar an extra £20,000 could be made.
Taking in consideration of £1,000 ground rent, around £5,000 for entertainment and £5,000 marketing.
1st year profit.
Marquee hire £12,000
8 nights, 200 people £88,00
Gross profit - £120,000
Net profit - £85,000
In year 2 we will increase our events to two venues/Cities - £170,000 increasing each year.
What makes us different!
The majority of office party goers will go to a restaurant. Other popular venues are hotels (enter cheesy disco music here). The next level up are made by entertainment companies, either commissions by larger businesses, or shared parties looking for better entertainment. My company will be able to supply commissioned parties and shared parties but sit between the lavish entertainments company model and hotel experience. Everything will be classy, elegant, somewhere clients will feel their party was a special treat, but without breaking the bank.
How the shares work
One share = £50 of investment. When the shares are bought, you will be able to sell them at any time, but only after the end of the first christmas season.
If my predictions are correct - after the first year we will be equal to the amount of money that was invested (but will have all the stock needed). This money will not be reinvested - This means by the end of year one (Jan 2020) One share will still be worth £50. However, by year two, the value of one share should be over double, and keep rising each year.
What do I get out of this. In the 1st year I will take a salary of £10,000 at the end of the year - this is to make sure investment holders will retain their £50 per share value. Each year after I would like 30% of the profit. Again, I will only take this cut at the end of each season.
Investors will be given one vote. If any changes are made to the company or decisions about the future - you can have a say. You will also be kept up to date each month with a transparent outlook on the way things are running.
As this is a new venture, there are always risks. However, the majority of your investment will be in stock. If this business falls short. Assets can be sold off and absorbed back into shares. Selling assets will not constitute as profit, therefore I would not be eligible for a cut in this.
Investing in this business also gives you extra perks, these include invitations to one of our nights and access to using the marquess for private hire free of charge.
Who am I.
Hi, My name is Chris Sommerfield. I originally set up my first company 15 years ago. I supply both primary and secondary schools with peripatetic music teachers, manufacture textbooks and organise music concerts for children across the Midlands.
As the founder of Music Makers, I have always led it to be a thriving business. Marketing, liaising with clients and generating new revenue comes natural to me. I am very personable person, ambitious, creative and I never let people down.
I'm looking to hand over the reins of my company so I can create this new business.
Setting up this events business would mean the world to me. I know we can make this a huge success!
