ESO Tour - transporting our instruments to Italy

We are raising money towards transporting fragile instruments to Tuscany for Ealing Symphony Orchestra's concert tour in July 2017

We did it!

On 30th Jan 2017 we successfully raised £161 with 2 supporters in 56 days

Thanks so much for looking at our project! Ealing Symphony Orchestra is a fantastic voluntary orchestra based in West London. We perform an average of six concerts a year at home where we focus on late romantic and twentieth century repertoire.  Having been inspired by a Puccini gala concert in February 2016 when we put on whole scenes of some of the great operas, we are now planning a tour to Tuscany in July 2017 where we will perform a concert in Lucca as well as spending time in Montecatini and Torre del Lago.

A full symphony orchestra comes with a variety of precious instruments, large and small.  These are not suitable for transport in an airplane hold as they are too delicate and particularly vulnerable to changes in temperature and pressure. Many cannot be taken in the cabin due to size restrictions. We therefore have to transport our instruments by a van driven by a couple of members of the orchestra.

We would be so grateful if you would consider helping us to raise the funds needed to do this - van hire, insurance, fuel and tolls all add up and we need to raise £1600 to cover this.  That works out at £25 for each of our 64 instruments and we would be thrilled if you could sponsor one or more instruments - thank you for your generosity and support!
