Our aim is to help the health and wellbeing of the community through engagement in organised sports. Getting children happily engaged in sports at an early stage brings them many benefits. We do this and carry it on through all ages.
We have just spent £1.2million re-generating an old, disused sports field and returning it to its former use. The land is being put into Fields in Trust to ensure its use as a community sports facility forever. The area is bordered by a woodland which is being maintained as such.
The old fields..
In order to make the most of these facilities we need a clubhouse to provide changing rooms, showers and toilets and other multi functional rooms. Currently we have 2 portacabins which provide temporary welfare facilities.
We currently support Cricket, Tennis, hockey, Croquet, Lacrosse, and junior Football. In addition we have some thriving clubs including Bridge and other indoor activities.
Our youngest participant is 4 years old and the oldest over 95! We have over 2,000 people who currently use our facilities and we want to double that at Old Schools Lane. We already have the children from three local schools using the sporting facilities during the week as part of their school education and over 400 children at the weekend.
