Enterprise Works #supportastartup

Working together to support start ups & developing businesses. We aim to develop the next generation of businesses within the local area

We did it!

On 3rd Apr 2018 we successfully raised £1,650 with 6 supporters in 56 days

Our aim is to enable and inspire more people to set up their own businesses and give them the tips and tools to be a success.  This will have a positive effect on the local economy and help the local area to thrive.

Currently we receive on average 150 enquiries a month for help starting up a business.  Only about 10% of these are currently eligible for support through funded programmes.  This means a significant number are unable to get the help that they require to set up.

We aim to fill the gap by introducing an inclusive programme of support aimed at engaging and inspiring all individuals to be able to have the tools needed to plan their ideas.  This programme of support will encompass advice sessions (face to face or online/phone) and workshops or seminars to help them develop both personal  and business skills in order to become a successful start up.

As a not for profit organisation we celebrated 35 years last Decemember and we continue to be a BEIS Approved Enterprise Agency.  We have seen many changes in the business support arena and wanted to launch this project to build on our achievements to date:

  • 35000+ advice sessions delivered
  • 3500+ workshops held
  • 3500+ businesses started up thanks to our support
  • 6000+  jobs created
  • Over 5 million in Start Up Loan funding (in last 4 years alone)

People who seek support to set up a business are 80% more likely to survive and thrive.  Starting a business can be a very lonely and isolating experience.  Coming to advice sessions/workshops and seminars and meeting with other like minded people can help boost the chance of success.   We want to make sure everyone has access to fully inclusive support services.

It takes over £500 to provide the support  to 1 business start up.  We aim to help an extra 100 in this year.  Donations raised will contribute to additional advice sessions, mentoring, workshops, seminars and networking to help individuals improve their skills and give them a better chance of starting up and succeeding.  We believe that the more this occurs, the better for our local area, other local businesses and the wider community and economy.

PLEASE SUPPORT A START UP TODAY - WHETHER YOU CAN DONATE £25 or £500 8f72a0ab6562dd894c0096bdef2c8bba65e524fd
