We are crowdfunding to raise money for some much-needed, additional computing resources to improve our children's chances in the future.

by Dunbury Academy Staff in Winterborne Whitechurch, England, United Kingdom

All the staff and pupils from Dunbury Academy are very excited to launch our crowdfunding project ‘Enriching Our Futures’.  We are working hard to raise £10,000 for IT equipment for the children of our school.  Our children, when they leave education, will be entering a world where the jobs haven’t yet been created and we need to prepare them the best we can with the technology on the market now.

With 110 children on roll we currently only have 10 laptops and 14 iPads to share amongst them.  The 40 Netbooks we have been using are now 15 years old and in desperate need of replacement. We simply need to upgrade our infrastructure and buy a class set of Chromebooks which we could then share between the 4 classes of the school. Unfortunately, the school budget is not able to stretch this far. These additional Chromebooks would be transformational for teaching and learning.  This IT will not replace the curriculum, but it will weave through it and will enrich it immeasurably!

Please support us if you can with a pledge or by passing our crowdfunding page on to all of your contacts on social media. Every £10 donated will help us achieve our goals.  If you know of a business who would like to match fund, please put them in touch with us. All support is very much appreciated.

The project will run for 8 weeks and with the help of the local community and further afield we are confident we will reach our target.  If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact Dunbury Academy on 01258 880501 or office@dunbury.dsat.org.uk.

We hope our video brings a smile to your face and you enjoy watching it.

Part of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust, the school is set in the Winterborne Valley, Dorset.  We have two beautiful purpose-built buildings one for infants and one for juniors.  We were the first school in the country to federate, so that the small schools could be kept at the heart of their communities, back in 1993.  We feel very blessed to be providing the local children with a great education, being recently rated "Good" by both Ofsted and SIAMS. It is a lovely school with a talented team and a growing roll.  We feel a project such as this will help us to provide even better opportunities for the children within our school.  Thank you for your interest in our project.
