Hi, I’m Tim and I’m speaking to you on behalf of the Encephalitis Society, the only resource of its kind in the world, providing direct support, advice, research and awareness for those affected by Encephalitis.
Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain. The inflammation is caused either by an infection invading the brain or through the immune system attacking the brain in error.
Around 6,000 people are diagnosed with Encephalitis each year in England. Without treatment 8 in 10 people die and even with treatment 3 in 10 people die.
Those lucky enough to survive are usually left with a life-long brain injury which has a massive impact not only on their lives but on the lives of their loved ones.
As a survivor and having benefitted firsthand from the expertise of The Encephalitis Society, I’m putting together an amazing cookery book that I hope will help both the charity, and the people they support.

- Produce a Cookery Book full of Healthy and Nutritious Recipes
- Provide Recipes that are affordable, easy to follow and easy to prepare
We’ve already secured the support of some incredible Chefs and personalities from sport, TV, Music and the press including James Martin, Rebecca Adlington & Tonia Buxton.
They’ve given us some amazing recipe ideas that people will love to prepare not only for themselves but also to entertain friends and family.
We’ve sourced amazing chefs and celebrities to submit recipes and we’re using a photography school to create the imagery but in order to create something really amazing, we have to pay for high quality design and printing. That’s where you come in.
We’ve put together some amazing pledges, with something for everyone. If you look to the right hand side of your screen you will see the pledges available. There are a limited number of each type of pledge and they are available on a first come, first served basis.
I’m asking you to be as generous as you possibly can, if we don’t meet our target then we don’t receive a penny!
