Alice Liddell, a frustrated teen struggling to come to terms with the death of her mother, is working a 9-5 dead end job to support herself and her father.
When walking the dog, following a family argument, Alice falls down a hole and is knocked unconscious. Upon waking, she finds herself in a similar, yet oddly different new world…one where her father is dead and her mother is still alive.
To be with her mother again, is something Alice has wanted since her death. But now living this reality, Alice has to face some of her inner demons and re-live the dark memories eating away at her subconscious, before she is granted passage to return home to her normal world. But will she want to go?
Empty Spaces is currently in pre-production and will go into production in mid-March. The film is the biggest project, to date, that our crew has made, and in order to bring it to life, we need your help.
We are wanting to make this film as professional and high a quality as we can. To do this, we are hoping to use professional actors and a location that helps to set the mood and tone of a fantasy. Unfortunately, when added together, the price of these don't come cheaply, which is where you can play a part. Your amazing donations will go towards securing actors, locations and transport for cast and crew.
Any donations, big or small, are all very much appreciated and you'll even receive a reward in return.
Megan Tremethick as Alice Liddell
Megan is a talented young actress known for playing Lucy in the multi-award winning short film Balloon Animals (2018), Elizabeth Hasking in the feature film Mary Anning & the Dinosaur Hunters, and Maeve in the award-winning thriller Among Us (2019). Among Us (2019) was also written and directed by our very own Grace Fox who is our co-writer and director on Empty Spaces.
Megan has been cast to play Alice Liddell, a frustrated teen. In the film, Alice is struggling to come to terms with the death of her mother, and is at her wits end with her father. Arguments between the two are common.
For a while, Alice has been suffering with a vision, a memory from when she was younger and throughout the film, she has to deal with this memory and what she has been hiding deep down.
Around other people, Alice has a bubbly personality and is often quite calm. But when with her father, their personalities clash somewhat and Alice can be perceived as being selfish and careless. This changes throughout the course of the film, however.
We're looking forward to working with Megan and your kind donations will help us secure Megan for the film.
Rory Wilton as Pete Liddell
Rory is a very talented film, stage and television actor known for his roles in ITV's Doc Martin and BBC's Poldark. In 2019, he appeared in the feel good film 'The Fisherman's Friends' as one of the fishermen. Grace Fox, our Director, co-writer and co-producer, has also cast Rory in three of her award-winning films.
Rory has been cast to play Pete Liddell, Alice's father. In the film, Pete is still coming to terms with the death of his wife and because of the way he's been dealing with it, the relationship between himself and his teenage daughter has deteriorated and become strained. The two are often arguing and their personalities clash at times.
Pete is perceived to have a short temper and isn't very close to his daughter. But deep down, he really does care and it is realised that Pete needs Alice just as much as she needs him.
We can't wait to work with Rory and your kind donations will help us secure him for the film.
