Thank you for taking the time to read about our project.
Who are we?
We are students doing our masters program at the University of Liverpool working in collaboration with Wonder Foundation to raise money for training nurses in Congo.
Wonder Foundation was founded in 2009 with the vision of empowering vulnerable women all over the world with the power of education.
Training nurses in Congo (DRC) is one of the main priorities at the moment.
Why get involved?
Ravaged by decades of conflict and corruption, the DRC has been left in a state of despair: roads and railways destroyed, health and education systems ruined. The majority of the country’s population remain in conflict-affected areas. Although the poverty rate declined from 71% in 2005 to 64% in 2012, the poverty rate remains high in the DRC region as was reported by the world bank in April 2017. It is still ranked 176 out of 187 of the poorest countries (United Nations Human Development Index, 2015)
Where is your money going?
The donated money will go to a scholarship for a girl in Congo to receive her education in nursing in the Institut Supérieur en Sciences Infirmières (ISSI) which is one of the most prestigious nursing schools in DRC.
1 year of training = £1365
1 month = £115
As international students traveling thousands of miles to receive our degree, we know that knowledge is power. Deciding to collaborate with Wonder Foundation we hope to empower those women to help them improve their lives, their families and make a positive impact on the society.
Help us change the world to be a better place for everyone ^^
