We are a family owned coffee shop in Southport. We purchased it in April and our vision has always been to support local independent suppliers for our produce and provide jobs for people who have been long-term unemployed. We currently have an excellent small team which include a 21 year old boy (this is his first ever job), a 50 year old lady, who had been for approaching 100 job interviews before working for us and an incredible chef. We want to offer employment to more people and to do this we need to extend our opening hours. This will mean varying the menu we currently offer. In order to do this, will mean upgrading the existing kitchen and purchasing additional equipment. We will also need a marketing campaign and promotion material to create enough business to offer employment to more people. It is so rewarding to see the difference that being able to work has already made to our staff. Their self confidence and self worth has rocketed! They chat to customers about their motivation and how this has changed their outlook on life. That’s a great thing in this age of depression and unspoken mental health issues.

As a thank you for supporting our project, for every £100 pledged we will match it with £100 food/coffee/tea to that person, for helping us to assist our local community.
