I am standing to be your Police and Crime Commissioner because I want to be a Labour voice standing up for communities in the policing and criminal justice system.
Too many people are being let down by a criminal justice system that just doesn’t work for them. We need a system that listens to victims, protects the most vulnerable, rehabilitates low-level offenders and provides a robust response to the hardened criminals threatening our communities’ safety.
I have the experience, as Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner for Merseyside, to continue the work I have already started, challenging all organisations within the criminal justice system, from the police to the probation service to the courts.
If elected, I will:
- Keep Victims at the heart of everything I do
- Restore Confidence in the Criminal Justice System
- Fight for a Fairer Funding Settlement for Merseyside
- Be Visible and Accountable to You
