“What did Adam say on the day before Christmas? It's Christmas, Eve” (we got that out of last year's Christmas Cracker)
Yes, I’m afraid it’s true. Christmas is well and truly on the horizon, and we at The Bike Shed Theatre couldn’t be more excited. Go on, ask us why…
Ok, you don’t have to shout. We’ll tell you.
We’re excited because we are about to start creating the third in the trilogy of entirely original, musical, magical Christmas productions with The (wonderful) Wardrobe Ensemble.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Eloise and The Curse of The Golden Whisk will transform The Bike Shed bar and theatre into a 1940’s restaurant, bursting with stories of adventure and intrigue that we can’t wait to share with you. The year is 1944. In the depths of a dusty larder in the bombed ruins of an Exeter restaurant, Eloise finds a beautiful, golden whisk. But when she clutches the shimmering relic, she unleashes an ancient curse. The only way to free herself is to cook the tastiest dish in the world. With time running out, Eloise scurries into the broken city’s underworld, undertaking extraordinary feats to gather the ingredients and discover the recipe. But with a rabble of greedy gangsters also chasing the whisk, will she succeed in evading its curse?
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Although we’re national in our outlook, we’re local in our loyalty and we’re dedicated to making work with, and for the people of the South West. Without your support in return The Bike Shed couldn’t continue to make new work. So we’re asking if you have any pounds to spare, you send them our way so we can continue to make the most creative, original work with the most visionary and inspirational people Devon and the South West has to offer.
Your money will go directly to support the costs of:
- A cast of five performers
- A creative team of six
- Instruments (we'll discover what we need during research & development of the show in September)
- Costumes
- Props (a magical golden whisk doesn't come cheap...)
