I have been lucky enough to be accepted to do my medical elective at Harvard University looking into the potential genetic causes of CDH

by Annie Evans in Cambridge, England, United Kingdom

I am a fourth year medical student at The University of Sheffield. Last year I did a Masters of Research at the University of Manchester. I have been lucky enough to be accepted to do my medical elective at Harvard University looking into the potential genetic causes of congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is a birth defect of the diaphragm, allowing the abdominal organs to push into the chest cavity, causing improper lung development and is a major cause of fetal mortality. I am hugely honoured to have been given the opportunity to do this. However, as I’m sure you can imagine, the funds required to get to Boston and to stay there for seven weeks whilst performing the research is not cheap. I am looking into different sources of potential funding and would appreciate any contributions that can be found!

Let's make 'Elective fundraising researching CDH' happen
