Elect Máire McCormack for Linlithgow

Elect Máire McCormack for Linlithgow

Elect Máire McCormack as councillor for Linlithgow ward in West Lothian.

We did it!

On 25th Apr 2017 we successfully raised £535 of £500 target with 26 supporters in 21 days

New stretch target

A huge thank you to everyone who helped me reach my initial target of £500! Your support has been astounding, and it'll go a long way to helping elect a Green councillor in Linlithgow.
Of course, the more we raise the better the chance I have of being reelected. Every £10 is another bundle of posters; every £200 is another area covered with letters about local issues. We don't have the support of big business or wealthy donors, so every pound goes a long way.
Please help me reach my stretch target if you can so I can be elected as the first Green councillor for Linlithgow.

Linlithgow has never had a Green councillor, nor indeed a woman. You could help change this on May 4th by helping to support our local candidate, Máire McCormack.

Máire has lived in Linlithgow for over 13 years. Her son attended Donaldson's school, she is actively involved in Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge Community Council, and she campaigns locally on issues concerning public health and the environment. Máire works as Head of Policy for a children’s organisation, giving her an insight into problems facing children and young people.

If Elected Máire promises to

  • Fight for local services in the face of council funding cuts, particularly those affecting children and young people
  • Fight to get toxic chemicals phased out of our town and surrounding villages
  • Promote a low carbon Linlithgow, putting local jobs and local producers first
  • Stand up to big business plans for fracking and other technologies which put our health and local environment at risk

The Scottish Greens don’t have backing by big business or millionaire (or even billionaire) donators, that means we need help from you. To make sure everyone in the Linlithgow ward – from Linlithgow Bridge to Newton – get our message we need newsletters, leaflets, posters and stalls. Unfortunately, these cost money. Whether you are a member or supporter, support our message or are a local looking for the real change we can bring to West Lothian Council every penny helps!
