Our aim is to raise to funds to help elect Laura Moodie as D&G's first Green councillor in the Dee and Glenkens by-election on 13 December

by Vote Green #1 Laura Moodie in Dalbeattie, The Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, Scotland

As D&G's first Green councillor Laura will fight for: -

  • Investment in reliable, affordable and innovative public transport
  • Reversing education cuts and demanding better funding of public services
  • A waste management strategy that reduces financial and physical waste and tackles the scourge of plastic pollution
  • Putting power back in the hands of our communities.

Laura is a charity administrator, Mum of four, smallholder and community organiser. Along with Green activists and campaigners from across D&G she led the local Greens' successful #haudthebus campaign reducing planned cuts to bus services by a third.

Since moving to the Stewartry from Glasgow where she was chair of Glasgow Civic Forum Laura has become a Community Councillor in Borgue, held the council to account for poor management of the broadband roll out, become Chair of the Kirkcudbright Skatepark and helped to fund local refugee charity Massive Outpouring of Love (MOOL) which supports displaced people here and worldwide.

Election campaigns cost money, especially when they're called suddenly. We need £200 to pay for leaflets, posters and travel costs.
