Covid-19 has had a huge impact on us all. For our divers this has meant a stop to the sport they love. On the 20th March training ceased immediately, competitions were all cancelled and many of the club's fundraisers have been put on hold or cancelled.
Everyone involved in children’s sport will know that fundraising is a critical, ongoing process for the survival of the organisation. It is essential that we help our young athletes and potential future superstars by assisting them to compete in wider competitions, providing them with much needed kit and equipment. Our divers have already achieved so much with Edinburgh Diving Club and this wouldn’t have been possible without continued fundraising efforts. We want them to reach their potential and need your help to give them the opportunity to do so.
Our Challenge: The Sponsored Climb at home!
Our club fundraiser 'The Sponsored Drop' was cancelled on the 28th March. Instead we would like to bring the challenge home. We can't get in our pool to drop the 8848m of Everest, but we can still achieve our goal and climb it.. at home on our steps!
To do this we need your help, and invite you to count your steps on the staircase. This is open to everyone, and every step you count will go towards achieving our goal of 58,070 steps to the top of Everest!
Once you have logged your steps by sending a message to our social media pages or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org we ask for a donation to our crowdfunding page and your name will then be put in to a prize draw.
If you would like to make a donation without climbing steps then that would also be fantastic! We really appreciate any contribution and thank you for supporting our divers.
