Eddie's GPS Watch

we need a gps watch to keep track of my autistic son on a weekend away, as he's a flight risk.

We did it!

On 26th Mar 2016 we successfully raised £120 of £100 target with 9 supporters in 1 days

My 8 year old son Eddie has autism, and I am planning a holiday weekend to Butlins in Bognor Regis for a children's science weekend.

This feels like a huge opportunity for him, as he loves anything to do with science, especially game design and physics! This is something I've been planning for a good while, and it would be a shame to cancel our place because he is a flight risk.

With his autism, the usual ways he responds to a stressful situations is a plain and simple fight or flight reaction. A lot of the time it's flight, and he will simply run away from whatever's causing his anxiety. This puts an enormous amount of pressure on me, as I can't always chase him down before he causes himself or others harm. This is why I'm appealing to get a GPS watch to track him and make sure he's safe; as a autistic child running through the streets of a place he doesn't know is dangerous. Police interaction with Eddie may also be a danger because he doesn't deal very well with strangers. I'm taking him on this weekend away on my own as my husband is disabled, and unable to walk long distances as he has a malformed plate in his knee.

The GPS watch in question is the WatchOver's Liberty Watch. (Link here: http://www.watchovers.com/product/liberty-watch/

Unfortunately, I cannot pay for this on my own, as I recently gave up my job to care for my disabled husband and Eddie. This is why I am appealing to you, my friends and family, to donate to what I believe is an extremely worthty cause!

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you if you donate any amount of money, every penny helps!
