We are raising money towards a major roof repair on our gallery - we need slates !
It is time to undertake some major repairs to this unique building in Polperro. The Ebenezer Gallery, Polperro exhibits work from members of the East Cornwall Society of Artists Ltd. We plan to replace half the roof ( the leaking half !) which will make a huge dent in our funds. We invite you to help us by buying a slate so we can start to put at least a little of our savings back for future repairs on this lovely ( but old) building .
Set in the beautiful and historic fishing village of Polperro, on Cornwall's south coast near Looe, the Gallery is unique in its origins. It began life as a Methodist chapel, and since 1972 has been the home of the East Cornwall Society of Artists, who annually hold a long summer exhibition of paintings and crafts.
The society, with a membership of 80 or more artists, also run workshops and painting days throughout the year - details on www.ebenezergallery.co.uk. These workshops are open to members, and also non-members are welcome to attend. The gallery is used for social events by the art society and local organisations in and out of the holiday season.
The gallery has carved a unique place in the artistic and cultural life of SE Cornwall and the exhibition is a favourite attraction for both locals and visitors.
