“Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education, because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul.” – (Plato)
Music has the power to open the heart of a child – especially a child trapped by poverty, homelessness or gang culture— perhaps changing their lives forever.
The East London School of Music (ELSOM) sits in an area of London where the crime rate is high and local youth have limited opportunities to make good choices. At ELSOM, we channel the energy of these kids towards something positive – lifting them up and giving them new choices.
Won’t you join us? Help us change the world for the better— one child at a time.
ELSOM is a nonprofit organisation, which affords local youth an opportunity to learn and play music at affordable rates.
Our immediate goals include: 1) replace our grand piano, 2) build out a 900-pipe organ, 3) increase our inventory of quality instruments, and 4) create a scholarship fund for worthy students. We cannot complete these goals without your help.
We also hope to put on free concerts and other musical events for the community, lifting the spirits of all our friends and neighbours.
Please help us change the life of a child who may otherwise choose the wrong path. While all donations are welcome, a gift of £80 GBP or more will make you a member of our Music Circle, giving you special recognition on a donor wall at the school.
Your help and generosity will be much appreciated.
