Having written the song cycle "Dreamland", I now need funds to rehearse and record the piece, and to present it "live". It would ultimately be a theatre production, requiring a fairly small stage but one that can accommodate a cast of four and a set that is very much in a Victorian style.
The piece is about Lewis Carroll and Alice. It is mainly in song but with occasional dialogue. As mentioned above, there are four singers. Ideally the band would be a four piece too.
Initially however, as both a product and a means of raising money for further exploitation, I would record all the songs and dialogue and market that as a CD and on digital streaming services. I would pay the cast and band a standard rate for rehearsing and recording. In addition, we would need a rehearsal space, a music copyist, instrumental arranger (some of which I would do), studio time, art director, photographer and "hard copy" packaging.
This piece has enormous potential as it is relatively cheap to produce and would appeal across age groups and nationalities.
