Who am I ?
I am a very determined, disabled entrepreneur and a single mother to a very wonderful 5 year old. (Please read “about us- the full story” section below)
Why am I crowdfunding?
I am looking for help to raise the final £500 needed to go live in the start up of my specially designed interior shop.
The startup of this buisness will be life changing for me as it will allow be to be able to pay for my ongoing care needs and I will no longer have to rely on state benefits. It will also put back the meaning of my life and give me back some importance but will also show my son the importance of work and setting him up to have a good work ethic. (Further information about this is in the “About us - the full story” section below)
WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE £500
This is not a new buisness idea with no back bone. I have been working, testing, perfecting this buisness idea for the past 2 years. I am literally at the stage of going live at the press of a button. Everything but Everything is in place, including some pre orders I’m happy to say.
The only thing thing that is holding this back is the £500 I am looking for in pledges.
The £500 is the amount required as the minimum first order from my chosen supplier , after that I have been approved full access to the trade account that I’ve been accepted for.
To get around this issue I had looked at other suppliers that do not have this policy in place and I can honestly report that I wasn’t willing to compromise on the quality, service and pricing that the chosen supplier gives not just me but the customers.
CAN YOU NOT SAVE UP THE £500.
Everything that this idea has required this far, I have saved every penny I have to cover it on my own.
Due to my personal circumstances, I have to pay for a Carer each week which eats up a large majority of what I have coming in, it is a large expense but it’s something that is required and I can’t change it or make any cuts etc.
Every penny is currently get is going on basic expenses such as food, rent and care and it is leaving me with minus money each month. This has obviously meant that saving the 500 be impossible.
WHAT AM I OFFERING IN RETURN
I am willing to match amount pledged in credit against anything in the catalogue of my supplier for trade price - this is a bargain because not only are you changing my life, receiving your money back, you are getting something worth a lot more due to it being trade price.
I will email you a voucher to have 10% off my live store for your first purchase.
You pledge £20 -
I will email you a link to my suppliers catalouge, you pick a mirror for £20 (but sells at £60 online).
ABOUT US - FULL STORY
My name is Laura I’m a 30 something, single mother of an amazing 5 year old called Rudi.
I have been registered disabled for the past 2 years and have been dignosed recently with a further nasty, which makes my aim so much more important as I may need to prepare for the future.
Dispite the illness, we are a happy and very proactive family, there is no holding us back.
I am a disabled single mother and have been classed as “unfit to work” by various agency’s for some years now.
As a disabled person, I believe that no-one is unfit to work, it’s being able to find work that suits you, your abilities and your passions. Sadly although their are companies out their that are essentially job friendly for my circumstance, I have now had a job offer taken away last minute due to “their insurance”
I’m sick of being written off, yes I may have some imperfections but I have a fully functioning entrepreneurial brain that needs put to work, the things I am able to do, I want to go hard at them and do well.
My health needs changed recently sadly and this means I require some paid help each week, this has obviously come at a premium and I find myself paying spending all the money I receive through disability benefit on my care and getting in debt as a result.
I would say financial security is one of the main reasons for this leap not just to pay for care but also due to my uncertain health I want to be able to be financially stable for my sons needs too should I deteriorate further or the worst happen.
I also feel that it is important that my son see’s work, in action, so that he grows up with a good work ethic and the importance of it all rather than just seeing his mother relying on state help.
I have been living on disability benefits for to long now a to be sI have been working on an idea for the past 2 years and am at the finishing line, ready to go live having put lots of hard work in, I have customers and orders waiting, the only thing stopping my life changing idea a reality is a £500 cost that I am struggling to get together.
