New stretch target

If we are able to secure £10,000 we will be able to produce higher quality content meaning the messages delivered by bereaved children and young people will be more impactful.

*** UPDATE 1st March 2017 ***

We are delighted to have reached our original target of £5,000, thank you so much to everyone who has pledged support for our project.

When setting up our Crowdfunder we could set two targets, our original one (for £5,000) and a stretch target.  The stretch target is the dream level of the project in terms of what we could achieve.  If we reach our stretch target we will be able to produce higher quality content meaning the videos are more impactful.  The good news is that now we have reached our first target we definitely receive the funds and anything raised in addition will contribute to the project.

Additional pledges will not be in vain, we will be able to make this project even better than we first imagined so please do continue to pledge what you can.

****************************************************************************************************************************

Imagine you are a child and you have experienced the death of your Dad, you have returned to school and hardly any of your friends will talk to you.  You feel isolated and so decide to truant from school. This may sound dramatic but for some bereaved children this is the reality.

The thing is, the friends are not being mean, they just don't know what to say and are too scared to say anything at all in case it upsets the young person.

Our project will enable bereaved children and young people to share their stories on camera, it will give them a platform to talk about what it is like to be a bereaved children.  They may even share what approach would have been helpful when they returned to school.

We are a Norfolk charity supporting children and young people in our County and our ambitions are big.  With your support, we have an opportunity to break down barriers for these children, their experiences could be vastly improved with better education and understanding of the needs of a bereaved child.

The growing use of video provides valuable opportunities for content like this to be shared far and wide via social media, helping to start a shift in people's thinking. These videos could also help us reach vulnerable children and young people, helping them to realise that they are not alone in their experience.

By pledging your support to our project you will be helping us and our children learn how we can produce our own video content to support the next generation of bereaved children.  We will work with Norwich based Eye Film to be trained in how to produce and edit video content as well as how we can establish a video archive and a record of families we have supported.
