We believe that caring is everyone's business. Caring for someone with life-limiting illness is often lonely and exhausting; caring for someone near end of life can be devastating. Omega the National Association for End of Life Care is a forward thinking, community-focused charity. We support family caregivers through and beyond their caring role. We promote best practice in non-clinical care and improve the social welfare of people nearing the end of their lives. We have a small, enthusiastic staff team working closely with over 106 volunteers. Reaching out together, we have formed a solid network of individuals and organisations who care passionately and hold space for those in need. Most Omega colleagues have personal or professional experience of the issues faced by our clients. We are constantly looking for new ways to address their needs.
Aimed at lonely clients living independently and in need of extra companionship, Delphinium is an innovative, not-for-profit, pay-as-you-go community business. We will provide a package of services including befriending, research, advocacy, and other practical interventions. Trusted companions will form supportive and empathic relationships with clients, and help to ensure that domestic and/or social care arrangements are running smoothly. Families, whether busy, scattered, or broken, will get regular reassurance.
Having benefited from a range of strategic advice and guidance, we know that Delphinium has potential and will build on our achievements tackling loneliness. With the varied experience and commitment of the Omega team, we shall deliver a reliable, flexible service connecting clients with the help they deserve.
