To purchase a defibrillator that can be used if needed by the whole of the community

by Jayne Maxwell in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom

30,000 people in the UK suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest each year with only 1 in 10 people surviving. Performing CPR will give an individual a 7-10% chance of survival but if you are able to use a defibrillator, the individuals chances of survival increases to over 70%.

Should you be in the dreadful situation of needing to use one, your 999 call will direct you to the defibrillator and give you the access code for the box.
