Defibrillator for Penmaenpool
We did it
On 15th November 2018 we successfully raised £1,236 with 17 supporters in 56 days

The aim of the project is to have a life saving defibrillator installed in an extremely popular popular beauty spot & holiday destination

The extra money is needed to purchase the secure box that the defibrillator will be housed in.

Back in April my dad came to visit to see our new home in Penmaenpool. Unfortunately he had a heart attack while we were driving from Dolgellau to Penmaenpool. We performed CPR & called 999 but he needed a defibrillator to help restart his heart. An ambulance was refuelling in Dolgellau so they arrived within 4 minutes of the call. We were lucky they got to him so quickly with their onboard defibrillator. He was taken to Aberystwyth hospital for a couple of days before being repatriated by helicopter back to his local hospital in Oxford. He was in hospital for 8 weeks undergoing a couple of operations, including fitting him with his very own ‘onboard’ defibrillator.

Our nearest defibrillators are in Dolgellau, Fairbourne & Barmouth. This is too far away to save a life. Penmaenpool attracts thousands of visitors every year, not to mention us locals who live here all year round. It may help to save a life.

If you can help in anyway I would be very grateful. My dad is recovering from his ordeal & once he is given the all clear he will come to visit me again & this time hopefully he will actually get to see my our new home rather than Aberystwyth hospital!
