Inspiring Young People: Inspirational Archives

Pioneering publishers and Black bookshop owners Jessica and Eric Huntley are exceptional role models, inspiring many generations of writers, artists and activists. We are raising funds to produce the 12th Annual Huntley Conference on 4th March 2017. The theme, "Deep Roots and New Shoots"  promotes and explores the contributions of many diverse communities of Black people in re-defining culture in Britain and connects across generations..

Finding their Voice

The present environment tells us that there is still much work to be done about understanding and recognising diversity of talent and excellence: Britain benefits from supporting young people as they generate our new shoots: building new stories of ingenuity, ways of defining their voice, learning about Black political action, activism and creativity.  Funding cuts are hitting very hard. For the first time, the Annual Huntley conference is at risk of not taking place

Your Vital Impact

Your donation for this much respected and important educational platform is crucial. Without vital funds, we may not be able to produce the next conference. It’s a matter of urgency to explore and share this legacy.

Be Extraordinary

Our conferences unlock and animate history: The Huntley Archives is the place where people can go to get inspiration about their identity and make connections across generations. There is so much to discover about Black literature, the arts, cultural heritage and the difference that courage and activism makes.  New generations are motivated by knowing their past: our conferences illustrate what can be achieved by ordinary people, doing extraordinary things and creatively inspire young people to be proud of their role in society, community and a world beyond their neighbourhood.

Donations make a difference

The money raised will contribute towards putting on the conference programme and help provide sponsored tickets for targeted young people aged 11-18years. Support the 2017 Annual Huntley conference.  Thank you!
