My name is Nichola. My Daughter was walking on a nature reserve last Dec 2020 and a Strangers large dog came running out of the wood after a ball. His head went straight into my Daughter's knee. She fell and then fainted due to the pain. The owner did come over to see if she was ok. My Daughter couldn't stand up properly and we had to take her to Casulty. After 3 cancelled appointments on the NHS, an x-ray and an MRI scan, she has a detached cruciate ligament and misaligned knee cap amoungst other trauma.
There is an 18 month waiting list. The hospital offered a private operation at £17'000. She is in constant pain and is on restricted duties at work. She can have it done privately under the NHS but we have to pay £8000 to get it done rather than £17'000 which we cannot pay. The sad thing with this, is that she is adopting a baby in the New Year and she needs to be up and walking about before this. It's a dreadful situation which was caused through no fault of her own. We haven't seen the Dog owner since. I am at my wits end and I am reaching out to anyone who may like to donate towards the operation. I appreciate it isn't life threatening, but my Daughter has been through alot over the last few years. Skull fractures after a horrific fall, resulting in epilepsy, Infertility etc. She has been so brave and never complains although her heartache is felt by me.
I would dearly love her to get the operation done before the end of October so she can heal and get things ready for the baby in the New Year.
Every £1 will help. I know the world due to Covid is a difficult time for all, but I do know there are good kind people who do care enough to give.
I would keep everyone updated who gives.
Bless you all. X
