As you all know, we lost mum back in August and due to covid we were unable to do the things she wanted to do before she passed, which as you can imagine is heartbreaking. This year has been hell for most of us, being in and out of lockdown, finances are tough. Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer of an unknown primary earlier this year. His prognosis was bleak, but he is now deteriorating quite rapidly having the cancer spread to his bones, bile duct, gall bladder, bowel, liver, pancreas and lymph nodes. He is constantly having infection due to low neutrophils and platelets, he has a bleed on the brain and heart failure. He was given 8 months 3 months ago but since has had to come off of chemo and since then is how the cancer has spread. We understand he is on borrowed time but I would love to be able to raise enough money to take him away one last time to spend some quality time making memories.
I know this is something that would make him really happy.
cancer has taken our family over, with us girls being brca positive and having risk reduction surgeries, we still carry an 85% risk of breast, gall bladder, pancreatic and skin cancer. We are now learning that we may have also inherited a gene from dad which puts us at further risk of gastro cancers .
