Cycling Without Age has captured the imagination of people across Scotland following the phenomenal internet success of Fraser Johnston who spearheaded the project in Falkirk. Here in Quarriers Village we have three independent Care Homes and the charity Quarriers who all care for elderly and other residents with special care needs. Campbell Snowdon Care Home is taking the lead to bring Cycling Without Age to Quarriers Village and is piloting the project in the Village.
We will be able to transport our residents around the beautiful setting of Quarriers Village to enjoy the gardens, the unique architecture, a coffee in the local cafe and to meet and talk with the other village residents. We will even be able to take our residents along the cycle track for trips to Bridge of Weir and Kilmacolm, for many of them the first chance to see and visit their home village for many years!
Also, by engaging with local youth organisations and training them as "pilots" we will help build a fully inclusive Community that brings the young and not so young, the fit and infirm and those with additional needs together to enjoy the unique environment of our Village.
Cycling Without Age is an inspiring international project that promotes the "Right to Wind in Your Hair" - help us bring Cycling Without Age to Quarriers Village by donating to our Crowdfunding Page today!!
